Working from home

Having an in-home office is quite nice. I always wondered if I'd feel lonely or bored sometimes with no one to talk to but that hasn't been the case.

I suppose at first, I did IM (instant message) more to stay connected with friends and old co-workers but I adapted quite well. I think I loved the flexibility. I can work for a bit, read, go run an errand, meet a client, come back, cook dinner, check email in any order. That is really nice. I don't always flex-time as much as I could, but the option is there and that is nice.

Plus I have to say having 2 cats in your home office is awesome.

They don't distract me much and are my companions at work. (Anyone in a stuffy offices right now can be jealous.) But what I've realized is they (the cats) often bring a smile to my face. They are so cute and snuggle up on my desk or lap -- and then how could you be anything other than totally happy. So maybe God gave me these critters as the ideal office mates. I'm serious.

A purring cat on your lap is the best treatment for the blues or any problem. I guess I'm grateful to have these companions and especially now - during my workday.

What is the point of this blog post? I guess it is that we can all be grateful for the little things you might otherwise miss that brighten your day - and I give credit God the credit for those little "lights" in my day.
