What to focus on instead of the time.

Sending clients a first proposal can be stressful. You've worked to understand their needs and then are illustrating the cost and VALUE of what you can offer them (remember I'm a consultant).

And at this point you really like the client and sincerely want to help them improve their business and meet their objectives. So it can be nerve-wracking to send a proposal over or talk cost/value for the first time.

But it can be tough waiting it out, waiting to hear back for approval and/or feedback. I've been stressed by this lately. What came to mind was something I wrote in a previous blog post: Spirit is my business partner. If that were really true, how could I really get off track or spend time in unfruitful ways?

I feel Spirit is all good and wants everyone to flourish and grow and learn, etc. Would Spirit guide anyone in business (or personal) matters) to have them go off track? No, there would be no point in that. So with that foundation, I could let go of some of the worry about my proposals and potential acceptance or rejection.

As long as I am learning and improving my business, my offerings and my relationships with clients and others I'm gaining, not losing.

These ideas have helped release the knot in my stomach and just focus on the activity that I need to do moment by moment, as Spirit guides. I find it very helpful to calm the panic or stress and focus that energy on what is right, and good and productive instead.

Try turning around your own thoughts and see what happens. It does a world of good for me.

Spirit's Omnipresence
written by a guest on December 15, 2006,6:28 pm

Your views are so encouraging that I did just that, waiting out the time for response by knowing that Spirit not mortal mind is in control. And the Christ has already gone before the proposal to create the right atmosphere. On another occasion there was a large band playing near a small eatery we had gone to and the noise was deafening. I felt that I would get a headache, if I did not move away immediately from there. Instead I just focussed on Spirit's omnipresence and how it was manifesting itself in the form of melody and shutting out loud meaningless sounds and on the lovely food cooked at the hotel, each item meant to reflect taste and grace. And soon I forgotabout the band and began to enjoy the food. It was as if the noise had been closed out by Spirit's gentle presence.
Thank you once again
