I am sustained by God. Cool. PDF Print E-mail
By K. Proctor

Finding a connection with God is the source of constant care.

In reading one of my favorite spiritual books by M.B. Eddy this morning I came across a simple idea that triggered a good prayer and some good insights for me and the business work and projects that I do.

The idea was, “…man is sustained by God, the divine Principle of being.” This may seem like a fairly basic idea – man being sustained by God -- but what I saw was:

  1. I have been always sustained by God. And it’s really true - I can look back and see that even during times when my business is slow and hasn’t yielded me income that I still have been sustained and never lacked anything that I really needed. Instead I have been able to pay expenses based on past revenue and just keep moving forward in finding new ways to share my talents.
  2. Going forward the same must be true, that God will sustain me so I don’t need to be anxious about my business but instead be intelligent, alert and willing to go where God directs me. And I will not suffer any loss but have opportunities to help and be helped.
  3. This direct relationship I have with God is so tender, is so caring. I mean seriously, little ol’ me is important to God - and important enough so that He makes sure I have just what I need each step every day. Plus He walks that path with me. Sometimes I think you can forget that God does this on an infinite basis for every single idea He has made. How cool.
  4. I also realized that because God is supreme and the ultimate power in the universe there is nothing that can break or suspend His action and His power. No mortal suggestion or fear or action can break a supreme spiritual law and power. It just isn’t going to happen. So I can rely on the fact that God’s government is the true government that blesses all.

These inspirations are a great comfort for me today and each prayer and the inspiration from it I know becomes my foundation for tomorrow too. So I know tomorrow I can build on this inspiration and find ideas afresh that connect me to Spirit and allow me to live in a way that best expresses God and embraces His work and ideas.
