What is the power of everyone united under one supreme God and how does it bless?
Today when I was praying, a clear message occurred to me - there is one universal God. Part of my daily prayer includes an exploration of who God is and my relationship to Her/Him so this isn't a surprising thought. However, it seemed quite loud in my thought. So I paused and thought about what this really means for me today.
Clearly this is a foundational spiritual idea or law. What I realized is there is much power and good in one universal God. And when there is recognition and worship of only one God, this eliminates other competing “gods.” With only one source, we don’t compete with each other because there is an infinite number of unique ideas.
So then I reasoned that if there is one God, and we are all brethren we cannot have reason, motive or power to hurt, hate or compete in negative ways. Instead there is much more peace, commonalities and love than we might see or even recognize some days.
In a book on spirituality I love, written by Mary Baker Eddy, is a big list of what the benefits are when we recognize one God. She writes in Science and Health, "One infinite God, good, unifies men and nations; constitutes the brotherhood of man; ends wars; fulfils the Scripture, "Love thy neighbor as thyself;" annihilates pagan and Christian idolatry, — whatever is wrong in social, civil, criminal, political, and religious codes; equalizes the sexes; annuls the curse on man, and leaves nothing that can sin, suffer, be punished or destroyed."
This prayer leads me to conclude there is great harmony in my business, my work, my life because of the power of the one God. And that inspiration, and the conviction I feel, is from Spirit, God. This is my prayer for my business and mankind too. We can live the blessings listed above as a worldwide group of woman/man-kind under God.
