Identity, work and money PDF Print E-mail
Transitions
By K. Proctor

Many people, including myself, often identify themselves with their jobs. Sometimes that is viewed as positive, sometimes as negative. For me it is a good thing, I've always been driven by passion - I have to do work that has meaning for me and that I enjoy.

I've found it a bit rocky to leave a full-time job in favor of exploring new things and ultimately try my hand at entrepreneurship - in terms of my identity. Since I've never been without a full-time paid job since high school it is an odd feeling. I realized how much I identified with work that was paid.
