I sweat over these blogs...I do. I want to write them...but I am not always sure what I am going to write. This week I have been feeling this way...and then I got an e-mail with a link to this guy.
The rest of the blog won't make sense unless you look at the link ;) Anyway, Julian Beever makes some fascinating art...but I was struck with a real spiritual symbolism behind this art. Mainly this, how often do we view life from the wrong angle? Right...right...right...this is a Spirit and business blog...so let me amend that question..."How often do we view our career, our goals, or co-workers, our boss, our purpose, mission, to-do list, our salary, etc. from the wrong angle?" I know I often do.

Jill Carroll was released from captivity today. Jill, a reporter for the Christian Science Monitor, was kidnapped by Iraqi insurgents almost 3 months ago. David Cook, Washington Bureau chief of the Monitor, said "This is a wonderful day!" when he heard the news. A former colleague of Jill's at the Jordan Times, Natasha Tynes said "...our prayers have been answered."

Boy, was I wrong in a blog I wrote several weeks ago on volunteering for political campaigns.
I said that I could volunteer as long as I didn't become invested in the outcome, because I got so burned emotionally the last time when my candidate lost.
Who was I kidding? I volunteered for a Santa Fe mayoral candidate and of COURSE I got invested!!
You get up-close to the issues, the other campaign workers, meet the candidate and talk one-to-one, daily compare what the other candidates have to say...yeah, it MATTERS if my candidate wins.
But this time around I did something smart. I prayed.

I've been attending weekly networking sessions where you meet other business people and learn more about them so you can send them referrals and they can send business your way too.
A portion of the meeting is devoted to gratitude - well that is how I see it. Thanking someone for supporting you in some way (i.e. sending you a customer). People give testimonials about each other too. This makes think of the value of gratitude.
