Making progress - 2006/09/08 18:59 At times it can be hard to see the progress you are making - spiritually or otherwise. I pray about an issue and then I find inspiration but the same nagging issue will come back in a few days. This is discouraging of course because how many times can I deal with the same topics (whether money, my best next step, maintaining my joy or whatever).

Anyone else been thru those kinds of issues or recurrences of issues? How can I really break free of some of these negative thoughts and issues - for good?

Re:Making progress - 2006/10/24 20:48 I just keep working at it. I have found no easy way to keep those thoughts at bay permanently but I know that each time I pray about it, I'm making progress. I'm learning new things, even if little things that lift me up higher and keep me more soundly connected to Spirit in thought.

That is the trick, getting control of your own thought - so you get to decide what it will focus on, instead of letting any idea run amock in your head.

Let me also mention that I keep a journal of my inspiration and look back at my progress from time to time. I write down the issue and the new inspiration. And then look at it at least a few times a year. That helps me feel better about my progress. And it sounds like that is part of your question too.

I'd suggest keeping record of your progress, and also recognizing that progress when it comes - it is there and often so small we miss it. Or it might just seem small in comparison to the big issue or problems looking to take up residency in thought.

Hope this helps.
