Mustard Seed or not? - 2006/05/18 03:06 Dear All who read,

I am in transition and have been for nearly two years. However, I think my journey as God as directed, has lead been me to three areas to pursue, but before I proceed forward I would sincerely appreciate thoughts and feelings etc. I want to make a difference and serve Him. I want to help others who seek Him.

Thus, I am strongly considering starting a new Credit Union -- "Mustard Seed Credit Union In Organization". I believe this could be my best avenue and put my 30 years plus in banking to help others. Why a credit union: It is non-profit where both time and resources will directed to benefit members, not Wall Street. I think people need a "bank" where they can trust, pray and hope for financial independence and good stewardship. I would love some feed back -- encouragement or ?

Thank you all,
Blessings,

Don Blanchard

Re:Mustard Seed or not? - 2006/05/18 14:55 Hello Don,

You sound very sincere in your intention and desire to help others. That type of desire to help and share and give always blesses us - I've found.

I started my own new business last year and have found that when I approach things from a standpoint of wanting to bless others, quiet my opinions/ego, then I can hear God. And I hear little things from time to time that feel like intuition - then I know I'm listening to what Spirit wants, not just me.

Sounds like you may have done the same. And with that kind of support (from Spirit) you will be able to continue on the path He directs. I try and just listen as much as I can and to quiet other inner thoughts or ideas that aren't productive.

Does that make sense? Anyhow guess what I'm saying is that when I need to make a decision, I listen for Spirit and then step forward in faith that Spirit is with me and leading me each moment.

It hasn't been easy and my income is rocky but I feel right in what i'm doing and I can find good and a way to bless in each day. That is my goal. Plus to be patient with myself.

Hope that helps. Let's stay connected via this site. It has some great ideas and cool stuff to explore.

Take care,
pwrpuff

Re:Mustard Seed or not? - 2006/05/18 19:01 Don,

I love your question! I feel I am in a very similar position of wanting to provide a service that I am passionate about, and wanting to feel like I am serving my community as well. I have been able to do that with my improv group as a business, and then I have found opportunities to volunteer as well as being involved with my church.

For me, feeling that sense of purpose and service is all about motive. It really sounds like your motives are pure, you are living your Spirit...so go for it!

I have a Wayne Dyer daily calendar, and yesterday's quote was the following,

"If you're motivated to be of service to others while being authentically detached from the outcome, you'll feel on purpose, regardless of how much abundance flows back to you."

Keep us posted Don!

Re:Mustard Seed or not? - 2006/05/21 22:19 Dear Don,

I’ve been thinking about your post for a few days. I think your motive is certainly worthy, but I know very little about the banking or credit union business so can’t evaluate it from a business standpoint.

But I do believe your prayers and sincere intentions can lead you to take the right steps, includuing associating yourself and this idea with people who can deomonstrate their own spirituality by helping you think it through and perhaps implement it.

I like the biblical statement that “All things work together for good to those who love God, who are the called according to His purpose.” It points to what I believe is a universal spiritual Principle that harmonizes all the elements in any system.

Best wishes going forward. Keep the community updated on your progress.

Re:Mustard Seed or not? - 2006/05/21 23:07 Dear Moppo,

Thank you. This is a struggle and the reason why I wanted to post it. I just know the "banking" community does not support the bibical way to manage one's financing nor creates a community that reflects such values. Thank you so much.
Your thought is very reflective and needs to be understood.

Blessings,

Don Blanchard
