Help! how can Spirit help in budgets? - 2006/05/26 15:32 Help! I am in the middle of developing the annual budget for my department (yeah, funny budget year). Every year it is a struggle with bad feelings for everyone -- it is such a feeling of "never enough" as well as competition. I hate it. How can I bring a spiritual perspective to it?

Re:Help! how can Spirit help in budgets? - 2006/07/06 15:58 Interesting question and very practical one. What business doesn't face this issue. Sounds like a few issues at work here - competition for money within the company and then fear that money won't be incoming because of the big competition. Is that right?

I would start by connecting with God in my thought - what does God know about the interaction and value of His ideas? Start from a spiritual foundation of what is truly underlying all of life. That kind of foundation I find makes my mind open to considering what is true and what is not true. And it helps me be at peace instead of reactive or defensive / fighting for money.

Start with an attitude of God being in charge, gives Him the power and removes it from your thought as something you influence. When you put God first, you can more easily hear His ideas instead of your own. You can find new inspiration in the middle of debate that can help bring peace where chaos is.

This is the place I'd start. Then try and reconnect to those principles when you get distracted from them. Be open to God's plan and His ideas - that can bring new energy and openness.

Hope that helps.
